Come on in to this Stewart Island Café on 6 Main Road, opposite the Rakiura Museum and DOC Visitor Centre.
Satisfy all your hungry cravings with delicious home baked and cooked goods, and wet your whistle on some fine drinks or coffee. And once a week we even do home-made pizza, a real local’s favourite, normally sold out within a couple of hours.
As well this, our friendly team can book you any of our boat tours, or provide some advice as to which tour would best suit you!

The Old Butchershop Café and Eatery is open daily from 8am until 3pm, except Thursdays. Winter months we are closed from June until October.
We are located at 6 Main Road, opposite the Rakiura Museum. You will see iconic chalets for seating, and an old butchery transformed into a cute café.
Every Wednesday evening we have our locals' favourite "Pizza Night", open from 4.30pm until late. Prebooking is recommended as some evenings we sell out very quickly due to high demand — book during the day or days before at the café, or call +64 27 496 7778.
Yes — we have a licence to sell alcoholic beverages and pride ourselves on our locally famous cocktails and Rakiura Beer.
We offer a variety of cabinet foods and daily fresh-baked cakes, as well as a proper cooked breakfast and lunch menu. We also do customised packed lunches for your adventurous needs — book in advance by calling +64 27 496 7778.
